What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Champions

The House of Champions currently provides three (3) Champions programs of eight students each, totaling 24 students served each year. It is an after school program designed to provide a nurturing, homelike study environment for children in grades 2-4 attending the Urban Community School or Metro Catholic School. The program runs from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 PM., Monday through Friday, throughout the school year. This program emphasizes strengthening academic achievements, improving social skills and provide emotional support (SEL) for these children who face many challenging issues; eg. Urban decay, crime, single family homes, daily violence, financial hardship, etc. The majority of these students live below the poverty level and the Champions programs provides nutritious snacks and meals each day of attendance.

The program is offered at no cost to the clients.
