Mission

Helping Foster Youth Transition to Independence - The mission of Fostering Goodwill is to act as a resource for aging out youth (ages 17-26) in Kentucky foster care and assist this population as they transition away from the state’s care and become independent members of society. This includes educating the youth about their rights, informing them about available resources within the community and assisting them in completing tasks necessary to be on their own. This includes helping them secure basic needs such as food, housing, transportation, employment, education, etc.

Christmas Wishes

Annual December event for the youth where food is provided along with gift cards and gifts for the youth and their children.

Meetings for the youth held once per quarter where they are fed and listen to a guest speaker regarding life skills.  Bus passes and gift cards are also provided.

Annual picnic to recognize educational accomplishments for youth graduating from high school, technical school or college.  Food and gifts are provided.

Scholarship to give former foster youth that have aged out of the custody of the state another opportunity to return to college and further their education.  The funds are used to pay off delinquent accounts at post-secondary institutions so they can return to school. Funds are also used to assist with books and technology needs.  The goal is to help these youth reach their educational goals and become productive members of our community.
