What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

MDLO Young Artist Institute

The Maryland Lyric Opera Institute is one of the premiere opera training programs in the nation. Boasting a world class staff, MDLO seeks to provide a select number of singers with the skills they need to excel on the world's stages. Providing essential training at no cost to these highly qualified artists is paramount. We seek to ensure that knowledge of the art form from previous generations is transmitted with high standards thus ensuring that the art form survives. Working in tandem with this program, we endeavor to make the performances by our Institute Artists accessible so as to cultivate new audiences for this art form.
