Special Needs Camp Scholarships

Special Needs Camp gives intellectually challenged adults a week of independence and an opportunity to hear what God's word is all about. The foundation provides scholarships and funding for special projects at camp.

The foundation assists individuals and families by connecting them with organizations in our network of supporting agencies. This includes providing free community activities, legal, employment, housing and government assistance.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?

Our goal is to be the support for our clients so they can attend events that allow them to participate in community events. Many of them have barely enough money to pay for rent and utilities and without us they would not be able to get out of the house and have a life in the community. One of the main requests we have had is that clients have saved money to go on a trip but they don't have transportation and/or the funds for staff to go with them and at this time we don't have the funds to support this kind of request because we are targeting the events that serve the most.

What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?

Finding events that support our community or events that our community wants to attend and assist the clients to attend in however we can. Contact Case Managers and Affiliates to assist with getting clients to events

What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?

Currently we are limited to local activities; Funding is limited so far but we are hoping to expand our scope

What have they accomplished so far and what's next?

Getting our name out to more agencies and see how we can help or partner. We have expanded our partnership to several other events that has allowed us to assist 3 times as many individuals as last year.
