Mission

Free the Oregon Zoo Elephants is a group of dedicated animal advocates who are determined to see that the elephants at the Oregon Zoo are freed from the cruel and inhumane breeding program that relegates them to lifetimes of confinement, misery and early death. We are also dedicated to freeing the oldest elephant, Packy to sanctuary. He has lived his entire 53 years in a small barn or yard It is time for him to taste freedom and to live as nature intended.

Outreach

We do a number of outreach events during the year. This past year we held a Free Packy demonstration during the Christmas Zoo Lights event. We held a memorial service in May for all the forgotten elephants. We testify for the elephants every month at Metro. We do outreach and education to the public every week at the zoo. We table at 4-5 summer street fairs.
