What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Interfaith Rotational Program
In cooperation with area congregations, our Rotational Program provides families experiencing homelessness a place to stay and meals along with structured case management to build skills and habits necessary to reach and maintain sustainable independence.
The Rotational Program offers families a safe place to stay without cost in order to save toward their own place while gaining skills and habits needed for sustainable independence.
Case Management: Individualized support and assistance based on a family’s unique circumstances.
Temporary Shelter, Meals, & Childcare: Our partner congregations provide families with a safe place to stay, healthy meals and hospitality. Until parents can access childcare assistance, we cover the cost of childcare making it affordable for parents to work.
Money Management Training- Weekly, families complete a budget and go over any spending with their case manager. All funds saved are deposited into our Sustainable Independence Fund empowering families to save for deposits, rent, and any emergencies which may arise after graduation.
Goal-Oriented Life Skills Training: Through weekly goals and group counseling sessions, equipping families with the tools to succeed such as parenting skills, self-care, social skills, etc.
Alumni Support: Upon graduation, families continue to meet with a case manager monthly. Then, they have on-going support from staff and volunteers. They are also invited to participate in special events and supports such as Christmas photos and gifts.
Community Based Services
The CBS Program is created to offer different levels of engagement for families experiencing or facing housing and/or financial insecurity.
Community Engagement: Events and activities to introduce families to services provided by family Promise such as our Community Resources Festival, Uplift the Girls: Bras for Moms, and Back to School Clothes.
Community Resource Connection: Assisting families in navigating the many resources available within our community. Depending on the level of need, this may involve a simple referral or coaching through accessing resources and prioritizing needs creating an action plan.
Life Skills Training: Group classes and/or one on one coaching to provide families with the tools to succeed such as financial literacy, parenting skills, self-care, meal planning, etc.
Diversion/Prevention- in partnership with Help Us Move In (HUMI), providing rental/deposit assistance for families engaged in the CBS Program.
Case Management: providing individualized support and assistance including weekly/monthly goals. Sustainable Independence Fund, one-on-one mentoring and other additional supports based on a family’s unique circumstances.
