What we aim to solve

The HEALTHRIGHT 360 FOUNDATION, established in 2015, is the giving, receiving and investing arm of HealthRIGHT 360. The primary recipient of the foundation's support is reserved for the operations and advancement of HealthRIGHT 360, which relies increasingly on philanthropic gifts to continue its work locally and statewide, and allows for the impactful, visionary treatment that distinguishes HEALTHRIGHT 360 as a leader in community health for vulnerable populations. Through the leadership, guidance and generosity of the Foundation Board of Directors and other donors and volunteer leaders, the HR360 Foundation helps ensure that HealthRIGHT 360 clients will continue to receive the professional, respectful and compassionate healthcare services they deserve.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

HealthRIGHT 360

HealthRIGHT 360 was created after the merging of its two parent organizations, Haight Ashbury Free Clinics and Walden House. Since 1967, Haight Ashbury Free Clinics has been an innovator in delivering primary health care services to many of the people who can least afford them. “Health Care is a Right, Not a Privilege” has been the guiding principle as well as its famous tagline. Since 1969, Walden House has treated people with mental health and substance use disorder problems at various residential and outpatient centers throughout California, including in-prison treatment programs, and facilities in San Francisco and Los Angeles, providing drug and alcohol treatment and mental health, vocational and housing services for people transitioning back into their communities.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

The Foundation Board of Directors serves as a valuable resource to HealthRIGHT 360's leadership, helping to raise support for HealthRIGHT 360, and lending considerable expertise and valuable time to the organization. As the fiduciary trustees of the Foundation, the Board of Directors manages Foundation business affairs and operations, manages the Foundation's funds, and sets Foundation goals in accordance with HealthRIGHT 360 policies and state and federal laws. In addition, the Board of Directors advises HealthRIGHT 360 leadership on key financial issues and helps guide strategies to advance the Corporate Officer's priorities and vision.
The Foundation's daily operations are administered by HealthRIGHT 360's Development Office, which is responsible for garnering private support and fostering communication and outreach to the organization's donors and other stakeholders.

The HealthRIGHT 360 Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who serve as advocates, advisors and ambassadors for HEALTHRIGHT 360. Directors serve a maximum of two terms of three years' duration. The Foundation can grow its board up to 45 members.

Each foundation board member has duties and obligations as listed in the bylaws to serve as advocates, ambassadors, and fundraisers to accomplish the foundation's goals.

We have a very capable board with strong leadership. Eric Flowers , our board chair, used his extensive experience in public health delivery, contracts, and business management in governance and operations at Haight Ashbury – Walden. As President and Chief Executive Officer of Ramsell Corporation, he has demonstrated his ability to support our organization with his extensive knowledge in the health industry. The Hon. Ellen Chaitin, a retired San Francisco Superior Court judge, is a strong advocate for LGBTQ rights and guides us with her legal expertise. Gloria Bauer and Kathy Holmes have successful fundraising track records and are extremely passionate regarding the cause. Peter Sullivan and Steve Wilson have been a long time advisers to HR360. Lastly, Ed Miller, whose brother cofounded Rock Medicine and is a longtime volunteer, has extensive entrepreneurial experience. These members, alongside our CEO, Dr. Vitka Eisen, and our CFO, Tony Duong, have the expertise and knowledge to lead the board to meeting all their goals.

Foundation Board was founded only recently. In their short tenure, the Foundation Board has set policy and procedures for fundraising and how to support the entire HealthRIGHT 360 agency. They have created a founding team and have raised a quarter million and pledged to raise $50,000 each year per person.
