Connecting People and Issues to Strengthen Our County
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Oftentimes, people and industries work in silos. Business members talk to business members, educators talk to educators. Ventura County Leadership Academy (VCLA) works to break down those silos and foster relationships across all industries, across the county. We strive to bring people together and provide a ten session program where they hear from subject matter experts in all the areas that impact our county. That way, we are all starting from a point of education, before we debate and discuss these issues. Our graduates work together to build a more connected community - one that respects the other side so that we can move forward, together.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our 2024 strategic planning goals are to:
1. Possibly rebrand, to better address what we do.
2. Hire additional staff, to increase outreach and programs.
3. Continue and expand our scholarship program.
Further engage (and track) our alumni's involvement and impact on the community.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
As stated previously, we work toward educating and connecting people from across the county, to build a stronger and thus more resilient community.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have completed our strategic plan (2024) and throughout 2025 and into 2029 we will work on each of these goals. As of this writing in the winter 2024, we have formed committees to hire someone, do a possible rebrand, and already have 9 committee members to roll out our Alumni Engagement Committee.
