THE PURPOSE OF THIS CORPORATION IS TO MAINTAIN OPERATE AND CARRY ON A VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT PROVIDING FIRE PROTECTION SERVICE AS AUTHORIZED UNDER G.S. 55A OF NORTH CAROLINA. THESE SERVICES ARE TO BE PROVIDED IN THE TOWN OF SAWMILLS, SAWMILLS RURAL FIRE DISTRICT, AND OTHER AREAS MUTUALLY AGREED UPON IN COOPERATION WITH NEIGHBORING FIRE DEPARTMENTS, CALDWELL COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICE, NC FORESTRY SERVICE OR OTHER GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES.
