NEMA's Councils (NHC, NSC, NAC, KDM)

The work of NEMA, prevention, education, and applied research, is carried out by its special programs through the production of educational media and through grants awarded throughout the country. These programs include: National Heart Council, National Stroke Council, Kids Do Matter, Seniors Life Council, National Alzheimer's Council. NEMA also delivers the daily award winning radio health program, "The Heart of the Matter." In addition to the issues associated with heart attack, brain attack (stroke) and Alzheimer's, other areas of focus include parenting ("The Little Book of Parenting"), youth gun violence prevention ("In A Flash"), and seniors' safety.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Provide educational materials to the public on preventing Heart disease, Stroke and Alzheimer's disease. Provide grants to first responder's across the United States.

Make available our educational materials free of charge to the public and making it easy to request these materials from our website. Giving grant monies to areas where the first responder's need for equipment and other necessities are greater because local city budgeting is cut.

Due to the generosity of our monthly donors we continue to fulfill our purpose and mission.

We have sent over a million educational materials to the public and hope to continue to help the public in that way. Next would be keeping information up to date to better help the public and being able to continue funding our grant program for hospitals and first responder's across the U.S.
