Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our next goals are to enlist as many residents as possible to become informed and engaged in ensuring that East Norwalk continues to grow but maintains our character.
We would like to provide many more public forums and workshops to engage residents regarding important topics.
ENNA seeks to partner with the city to address the needs of our community now and into the future, and work together to strike the best balance of preservation and development.
We want to protect the interests of our senior citizens, and encourage housing that supports "aging in place" principles.
ENNA will become a key stakeholder in the creation of a Transit-Oriented-Development plan for our neighborhood center.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
A robust door-to-door canvas to raise awareness of ENNA and to garner resident contact information.
Continue to seek available meeting space within our geographic boundaries.
Update our communication methods to include email blast services such as ConstantContact.
Improve our website and social media tools.
Publish useful and timely information to residents.
Solicit more active membership and have more frequent meetings.
Increase overall membership and seek new Board members.
Set up task forces and board committees.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
With additional funding, we can expand our communication channels to include mailings, media advertising.
An engaged and determined Board who believes in the mission of ENNA is willing to do the hard work necessary for the growth of the organization.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have accomplished public mobilization for important matters, but we lack the consistent membership involvement to ensure our long term vision is realized.
ENNA would like to be the number one source for East Norwalkers to know the history of our area; to participate in future development; and to engage with one another in a vibrant, walkable, sustainable, community that has a balanced mix of residential and commercial development.
