Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Job Readiness Program
It is a twelve (12) week program designed and geared toward the youth and in particular post incarceration in the Youth Detention Center. Weeks 1-5; Advancement weeks; Students are encouraged to participate and focus on self improvement and advancement from current lifestyle. The program also includes processes and trainings for self evaluation, transformation and therapy. Key areas/issues of concentration for the students are as follows: Unemployment, promiscuity, HS drop Out, Suicide, Domestic Violence and Teens and Drugs. During this time of training; the student(s) will be responsible for the creation of public service announcements (PSA) to air on three (3) television programming "Teens Called to the Nation (TCN), Teens and the Law, and Teens and Finances.
Weeks 6-7 - Resume Building, Dress for Success, Application & Interview Preparation
Week 8 - Financial Planning (Savings/Checking/Money Market/401 K/IRA); How to Start a Small Biz, Entrepreneurial Training 101
Week 9-10 - Further Review/Application and Role Playing of Weeks 6-8.
Weeks 11-12 - Application of the Entire Trainings (all 12 weeks); Sales and Marketing, Copywriting, and Job Placement.
Our Corporate Sponsors will receive advertisement opportunities through the television programs for their sponsorship and inclusive participation rights to YOS partnering program(s). In addition, Corporate Sponsors and/or participating partners will receive advertisement space on YOS websites (www.yciyos.com(http://www.yciyos.com/) & www.perfectbusiness.com/lcharity(http://www.perfectbusiness.com/lcharity) ) and in "Envision", which is the official newsletter of Youth Outreach Services.
Building Block Program
•Building Block Program
•The building block program is a program that is offered to the youth after they have completed the job readiness program (12weeks ) which include financial planning. The building block will cost $10.00 per block (minimums, but unlimited). It is a saving program in which the youth can participate in to do the following:
•(1) Invest into their Education
•(2) Owned and operated businesses (Bakery, Publishing & Production, Real Estate, a Construction and Landscaping). The following businesses are already involved; Morning Star, Inc. , Hilson Designs Group, and Youth Corporation, Inc.
•(3) Buying shares of stock into other businesses that is networking with YOS.
•(4) Down Payment on a House.
•(5) Purchasing a Vehicle.
•Who is eligible: The program is open for youth who has completed YOS Job Readiness Program. He/she has shown stability in the program and has signed an agreement to stay in the program for 2 years. The money will be put in the your name in a saving account under Youth Corporation, Inc. (Youth Corporation, Inc is the umbrella of the businesses that will be developed from the Job Readiness Program).
•Withdrawal of Money: Money can only be drawn from account for emergencies only (death in the family, sickness, and foreclosure or eviction).
•Corporations & Business Matching Building Blocks: Corporations and businesses that are contracted with YCI/YOS or TCN are invited to match the youth’s saving account. Including Clauses for the following circumstances:
•(1) Tax law in reference to children/youth saving accounts
•After the two year period, you can receive shares of stock within YCI or start your own business with the YCI symbol with your savings. – Presently YCI has 5,000 shares of Stock.
