Mission

The Foundation was established in 1990 to raise and collect funds for the charitable and educational activities of the Marine Corps League and to distribute those funds diligently within the mandates of a non-profit 501 (c)(3) agency as designated by the Internal Revenue Service. In the area of Humanitarian Aid, our philanthropic endeavors are realized with grants to individual Marines and families of Marines who are in a difficult position due to circumstances beyond their control. The needs are verified by local Marine Corps League officials, who often rally local Marine Corps League members to provide additional assistance as needed. We welcome all who share our values of Honor, Courage, Commitment, and Marines Helping Marines, assisting our youth.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

To be able to maintain a revenue stream to continue to provide humanitarian and disaster relief, educational assistance, and youth programs. We are working to accomplish our mission to be able to provide assistance where needed and requested.

We added several different programs for generating revenue to add to the general donations we receive.

Having items for sale at all conventions and events of the Marine Corps League to include Memorial Certificates to honor our fallen heroes.

We have reached a total asset mark of over $1million and with varied investments with Morgan Stanley, we now have funds to maintain our programs of assistance.

Policies and processes
  • We have a promotion process that anticipates and mitigates implicit and explicit biases about people of color serving in leadership positions.
  • We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
  • We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
