What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Family Mediation Program

South Carolina requires families with contested cases to mediate prior to a hearing. Mediation cost average $200 - $550 per hour and average family mediation takes 2.5 - 6 hours to mediate. Most families can not afford the cost of mediation. We provide low-cost mediation on a sliding scale through volunteer mediators. The sliding scale starts at $20.00 per month for individuals making less than $10K per year up to $100.00 per hour for individuals making over $50K per year. Typical mediation cost is split between the parties, our services are based on individual income and balance the power between low and high income clients.
