The Trenholm Opportunity Zone Initiative
History:
The Trenholm Opportunity Zone Initiative was born out of the community development efforts of TMPC Nonprofit Holdings, The Meeting Place and the TMPC Job Corps. With a heritage that spans the past two decades, the leadership of this collaboration has been instrumental in facilitating more than $15M of revitalization through capital improvements, workforce development and socially conscious corporate partnerships.
Upon the advent of the Opportunity Zone legislation written in the Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017, the property holdings of the initiative experienced accelerated development - leading to national recognition as a trailblazer in Opportunity Zones. In February of 2019, the various projects were highlighted by a half-day visit by the Vice President of the United States and Senator Tim Scott.
