Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our goal is to make hospice care more accessible and available to all who are eligible in our service area, regardless of race, creed or ability to pay. For more than 35 years, we have been the sole not-for-profit comprehensive hospice service in Marion County, Florida, serving both urban patients and those in our highly rural county.

Through physician and hospital liaisons, we market our care and services to medical groups and the three local hospitals, expediting admissions and encouraging physicians to make timely referrals to enhance the quality of life for their patients.

Our palliative care consulting service furthers the organization's mission and strategy by working closely with physicians to make comfort care available to their patients.

Admission rates are same-day and are often completed in the hospital by the liaisons, so patients return home with hospice care in place. Our conversion rate is 92%, market share is 93% and market penetration is 69.7%.

Our Community Outreach efforts are strong in senior populations, faith-based events, Hispanic and African-American communities, partnerships and free bereavement workshops.

Our Healthcare First family satisfaction and quality measures scores are always higher than the national average.

Hospice of Marion County has been accredited by the Joint Commission since 2010 and received Deemed Status designation in 2014.
