Program 3

The city of Mount Vernon implemented a restaurant tax which is solely used for the promotion of tourism into the county. These funds are allocated fifty percent to the city on projects approved by the commission. The commissions fifty percent must be used on activities and projects to promote the tourism in Mount Vernon and rockcastle county. The transient tax must be used for the support of the tourism commissions facility and employees. All promotional items are purchased with these funds.
