Masters Class
The GNL Masters Program educates highly accomplished men and women about the issues in Collier County through a series of eight to ten in-depth sessions covering all major aspects of community life. Each year, GNL accepts a class of 36 – 46 individuals, many of whom are new to this area, and exposes them to sessions focusing on history, culture, healthcare, education, the environment, economic development, human services, government, Immokalee and law enforcement as well as exposure to volunteer opportunities. Sessions include presentations, panel discussions, on-site visits and field trips that are planned by members of the previous Masters Class and overseen by the Class Leaders. Each year’s program seeks to provide an interactive and comprehensive experience in key areas of community need. Graduates are expected to carry out GNL’s Mission Statement, which encourages the use of their skills in bettering the community. Members are notified of volunteer opportunities on GNL’s website.
Community Service
Greater Naples Leadership (GNL) is an educational organization whose mission is to provide proven leaders with unique opportunities to learn firsthand about the needs and issues of Collier County. We are proud of the great number of GNL members who are involved with local nonprofits or civic organizations–volunteering, serving on boards or in advisory capacities. Our community is well served by these members, many of whom report that they volunteer in multiple sectors including nonprofit, civic, political, faith based and educational activities. GNL is non-political and does not take positions on issues. Rather, we seek to educate our members on the pros and cons of these issues so they are better prepared to make their own decisions and commitment. GNL does not solicit or provide funds or goods for other organizations.
Alumni Program
With regular input from the membership, a volunteer Alumni/Continuing Education Committee creates a dynamic, engaging series of programs of newsworthy topics, balanced political views and local issues of concern that meet the needs of GNL alumni for continuing education on community issues. Programs also encourage graduates’ broader and deeper involvement in community service, thereby strengthening their support for the mission of GNL.A volunteer Alumni Networking Committee sponsors social events that encourage members to keep up with classmates and get to know our newest members. Each graduating class has a volunteer “Class Rep” who functions as a coordinator to organize and plan class reunions or service projects that foster continued closeness within the class.
