Ministry of Presence, Inc.
Serving the children of Haiti
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
We need to have people on site 24/7 for security and keeping the well functioning. Additional people are needed for maintenance. This is monthly. Construction can only continue as funds are available which requires a start and stop situation. Our monthly is about $1,200 to $1,800. We have people who hold licenses ready to step in and start our programs. But we can not get this done until the construction is 100% complete and the government gives us an occupancy permit. We need about $50,000 to complete this. No one at the Ministry of Presence takes a salary or income from the ministry. We have offices in our homes. And keep organizational expenses at minimum.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Community Water Well
We seek to expand the capacity of our well on the property that provides the only clean water available to the village people who are dying of cholera and other sickness.
Elizabeth Place
We are building a new home for 50 orphaned, homeless and vulnerable children and babies. We need additional solar, Propane tanks, and backup generator. Construction is almost complete. Interiors are finished. Kitchen equipment on site and needs to be installed.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our first goal is to complete Elizabeth Place for the kids. This has been the same for the past six or more years. Once we are operational, we want to start programs in health, teaching, medical and become a food distribution center. We have developed relationships with the authorities there, a hospital near by and people who want to start a nursing out reach. Eventually we want to start a vocational school. The youth in Haiti have to leave orphanages when they are 18. The need to be taught a trade before then. We also have plans for two mobile clinics. We would like to find a major donor that has the same vision to help the children of the world, even those forgotten in Haiti.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We will be a center for children. This vision will be fulfilled no matter what. It is only the amount of money that comes in that determines when. We have had over 300 donors over the years giving as little as $20 per month. As in a lot of ministries, people want to see something accomplished before they step in to help. Our building for visitors is complete. The children's building is almost there. We have outside interests for starting the rest of our programs. These are qualified people. So, the primary goal is to finish what we started.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Our goals are being met although not as quickly as we might want them by our current donors. Our facilities are three stories tall and built to above standards. All by faith. And the fact we are really there and not some institution raising money and taking commissions. We have a real presence and a small village that believes in us. Donations that exceed our building and monthly requirements, will allow us to provide more food and medical help to the people living around us. Once we finish building we will start on the other projects. All are designed to help the children in Haiti and their families if they have one.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have completed an 8,000 sq. ft. building that sleeps at least 15 people. From there we have distributed 1000's of meals. Provided medical help to 100's of people. We distributed truck loads of supplies, clothes and basic needs after the earthquake. We are providing water to over 500 women and their families every day. We have provided teaching programs for personal health, cooking, and language. These are just a few of what we do. Next is completing our orphanage. While providing other services to the community, this has always been our primary goal.
