Watershed Awareness

The Science and Environment Council works to promote best practices among area residents and visitors for conserving water and protecting our waters.  The program has taken various approaches including: 1) workshops for policy-makers to develop consensus documents around water issues in the region, 2) production and distribution of high quality videos on watershed protection, 3) educational kiosks that travel between SEC member sites, 4) outdoor interpretive signs overlooking watershed features at SEC member sites, 5) a watershed mobile phone tour with 30 stops at SEC member sites, and 6) watershed awareness outreach campaigns delivered via events and through creative social media.

Population(s) Served
