Plumas Environmental Education Program

Plumas Audubon Societys Plumas Environmental Education Program (PEEP) is a project to develop and deliver environment-themed material integrated with standards-based instruction. PEEP aims to help youth explore and connect with their local ecosystems, natural resources, and public lands; make associations about the health of their surrounding natural environment to the communities in which they live; and then connect with and actively contribute to their communitys well-being while also benefiting the environment through service-learning projects. Under the PEEP project Plumas Audubon Society is working with various partners in the Feather River Region to develop curriculum for K-12 youth that, through the lens of Birds and Climate Change, offers locally relevant and place-based learning while at the same time addresses the broader concept and consequences of climate change.
