CHURCH AT ROCK CREEK

Little Rock, AR

Mission

Taking Jesus as He is to people as they are.

Taking - Because sitting back and being comfortable is not an option. We're commanded to "go" and make disciples -- wherever hurting people are to be found.

Jesus as He is - No person in human history has been as misrepresented as Jesus — but even a cursory reading of the Gospels paints a portrait of the God-Man who is the friend of sinners, compassionate and forgiving, the very essence of love and acceptance. He hasn't changed.

To people as they are. - Not people as we imagine them to be, or want them to be — but just the way they actually are. Hurting, hiding, addicted, petty, abused, ashamed, you name it. In the presence of Jesus, no pretending is needed, no masks required.

Celebrate Recovery is a ministry designed to help hurting people. It is made up of regular folks like you and me, who are on a journey toward wholeness; seeking recovery from and celebrating God's healing of life's hurts, habits and hang-ups. Trained leaders provide safe, confidential, Christ-centered groups where people can grow. They offer their stories as fellow travelers on the journey to healing. At Celebrate Recovery we believe that change is possible by the power of Jesus through this Biblical program.

The Church at Rock Creek has offered the Celebrate Recovery program designed to help those struggling with hurts, habits, and hang-ups by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ through a 12-step recovery process based on the Beatitudes in the Bible. If you are looking for a safe place to share your experiences, strengths, and hope with others who are going through the “Principles” in a Christ-Centered environment, please come join us!

The Church at Rock Creek has served the Little Rock community since the year 2000. Those seeking assistance with the food bank may call the Care Center office between 8:00 A.M. and 11:30 A.M. and schedule an appointment for that afternoon. At that time food can be distributed. In addition to servicing the community Tuesday through Friday, holiday food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas are given to families throughout the surrounding areas.

Feed Arkansas Kids is a ministry through the Church at Rock Creek that provides weekend meals for homeless and food insecure children in Central Arkansas. The food is purchased by Church members tithes & offerings and also by generous outside contributions from local/national businesses to help support the growing financial need. The food is ordered through the Arkansas Foodbank Network.

The area school districts work with our volunteers to locate the children in need. We then pack backpacks with breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for both Saturday and Sunday. The backpacks are delivered to over 38 schools by Friday to the various schools children attend for them to take home for the weekend.

The program works with the Little Rock School District, North LittleRock School District, Pulaski County Special School District and Sheridan School District. We are currently feeding over 500 children each weekend.

Nobody deserves what abused kids face on a daily basis. While we may not be able to help all of them, by God’s grace we can help some of them. What we cannot do is sit idly by, content in our own comfort, and hope that someone else addresses the need. The stakes are just too high – for them and us.

After all, The Rock Creek Children’s Home will help us as a church live out the very words of Jesus Himself: “Let the little children come to Me; for such is the kingdom of heaven.”
