Needs Based Scholarships
The agency subsidizes care, college education, and overnight camp programs. JCRS provides grants for entering college students and overnight camp for needy children as well as interest-free loans to needy college juniors and seniors. The agency also provides no-charge counseling and assistance for needy children with special physical or emotional needs. In any given year, the JCRS typically provides these services to 400 or more young people on a demonstrated financial needs basis.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The vision of JCRS is to provide needs based support, resources and services for Jewish youths and families that will promote their welfare, education, and self-identity, thereby helping to prepare them to be well-adjusted, self-supporting, young adults. This is accomplished through our scholarship programs – camp, college and special needs assistance, as well as, our outreach services such as the PJ Library and Hanukkah Gift Program.
Current goals are to (1) fund even greater numbers of at-risk or financially challenged Jewish youth and families, and (2) increase the dollar awards for our scholarship programs.
