Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

1) Increase opportunities for all people to access Y programs and engage in services that deepen the impact of our cause.

2) Diversify overall fund development and community support to serve more people.

3) Expand partnerships and collaborations to be more effective in meeting community needs.

4) Raise visibility and enhance public understanding by proactively sharing our cause with others.

Nurturing the potential of every child: Execute a holistic approach to personal growth in our youth-serving programs to demonstrate improvement in life skills and academic proficiency. (Before and After School Programming; Summer Camp; Power Scholars & Tutoring to help address academic loss and achievement gaps.)

Improving the Community's Health and Well-Being: Equip and encourage individuals to pursue sustainable healthy lifestyles by taking a holistic approach to total wellness and body. (Evidence-based Health Initiatives for Disease Prevention and more.)

Giving back and providing support to our neighbors: Engage a network of volunteers, donors, and advocates to strengthen the social connectedness needed to ensure diverse communities are supported.

Our strategic advantages: The following "traits" capitalize on our unique assets and outstanding execution. We will leverage these advantages to grow our impact.
1. Community-wide footprint with varied offerings at each branch location.
2. Diversity of services for the whole family of all ages and abilities.
3. Scholarship & financial assistance offered so all can be included.
4. Christian values that focus on holistic health and well-being for ALL.
5. Nationally recognized brand with excellent reputation.

Strategic thinking and planning are ongoing. We want to stay relevant and responsive to our community. Our areas of attention include:
1. Determine how we adjust/align our programs with our strategies.
2. Decide how we should communicate our strategies and progress.
3. Decide how we will measure success.
4. Review the success of our strategies and impact on Y, members & community.
5. Review and remain current on trends facing our community.
6. Determine what's next, what needs to be revised or reinvented.
7. Address big questions as they emerge.

Our Y has expanded our outreach to become part of the solution to address food insecurity in our community. So far in 2021, our Y has distributed more than 21,000 pounds of food, we are serving more than 4,000 healthy meals and snacks during Summer Camp at no cost to families, we are providing more than 30% of summer campers with scholarships to help working families with child care needs during the summer months.

We are also enhancing our disease prevention programming to focus on new ways to address health equity in our community with expanded access to physical activity, nutritional education, access to fresh produce in a food desert, and more.
