Mission

Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana, Inc. offers opportunities to people with disabilities and other barriers to improve their economic self-sufficiency through training, education, support services and employment. Populations served include people with disabilities, formerly incarcerated individuals, at risk youth, homeless veterans, youth aging out of foster care, displaced workers and economically disadvantaged individuals.

Training 2 Work Reentry

Providing case management, job training, mentoring and support services for people returning home from prison.

Goodwill provides comprehensive,
individualized and evidence-based
programming that helps formerly incarcerated
citizens find and keep a job. Outreach begins
before incarcerated populations are released
from local, parish, state and federal facilities.
Wrap-around services include job training,
mentoring, case management and
employment placement services.

New Orleans, Goodwill connects homeless
veterans with disabilities to stable housing,

out of school youth, between the ages of
17-24, to guide them onto a path of vocational

Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana has a high performing executive and senior leadership team. Its training programs are nationally certified and it operates a school program that is certified by the Louisiana Board of Regents.

Goodwill's training to work programs for formerly incarcerated has a low 10% recidivism rate. By comparison, the recidivism rate for the state of Louisiana is 48%. Goodwill provided services to 2,962 individuals in 2017 and placed 302 into sustainable employment.
