Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Our two major programs are in Uganda and India. Our program in Uganda became fully operational in July 1998. We are currently serving the health needs for six villages; our goal is to implement a self-sustaining health program serving a population of 40,000 in Rakai district, Uganda. Our staff in Uganda includes a nurse who coordinates the program, an assistant nurse, and a volunteer community health worker and birth attendant in each village. Our program in India is in the process of development. We have hired two community health program supervisors who are active in villages in West Bengal. We are now looking for a nurse to operate our maternal child clinics. Our community health program coordinates its services with a local Christian hospital, which we also support.
