Program 1
TEXAS HEROES DAY- Reinactment of military actions and family living during the period of the Texas Republic. The historical grounds inlude. amonument that marks the tomb of the men that died during the Dawson Massacre of September 1842 and the ill-fated Mier expedition of November 1842, also known as the black bean incident. Nearby citizens reinterred their remains here in a common tomb so that they can be honored for their sacrifice. The site is now marked by a 1936 Centennial monument.
Program 2
TRAIL OF LIGHTS-The grounds of Kreische Brewery and Monument Hill state historic sites were transformed with beautiful holiday lights and living exhibits of the history of the area. Guests walk the trail though the historical grounds.
Program 3
BLUFF SCHUETZEN FEST-Celebrated the history of the Bluff Schuetzenverein, a German marksmanship and social organization which once made its home on the grounds of Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Sites. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the Bluff Scheutzenverein hosted dances, concerts, picnics and shooting competitions which welcomed people from across Texas. Sites staff and volunteers will commemorate these traditions with a day featuring entertainment, community booths, family activities, living history demonstrations, special tours, food and drink, and more.
