THERAPY ANIMALS OF SAN ANTONIO INC

Bringing People and Animals Together For Healing

San Antonio, TX   |  www.therapyanimalssa.org

Mission

Our mission is: Bringing People and Animals Together for Healing. A mental health crisis has emerged across all age groups in our country and community. Literacy rates among children have continued to decline. TASA is dedicated to providing services to these vulnerable populations and more. Our free services help improve the lives of individuals by promoting the benefits of the human-animal bond. We offer a variety of programs that support children & youth, adults & elderly, and literacy. In addition, our Crisis Animal Response (CARE) teams have been crucial in offering support services to schools and communities in times of crisis, including our critical role during the Uvalde school tragedy.

What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

We are working to meet the continually increasing demand for, and expanding utilization of, animal therapy teams in San Antonio and the 9 surrounding counties in a manner that supports best practices and maximizes the benefits of the human-animal bond to vulnerable populations. An extension of our work also includes community education and consultation to organizations interested in establishing animal therapy programs in service to their clients. We also know have our CARE program that is in line with National Standards for Crisis Response so that we are able to respond to crisis events that occur.
