What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Seton House addresses the needs of single parent families. Single parents who find themselves homeless are often living within a cycle of generational poverty. They are victims of trauma. They are recently released from jail, prison or a treatment program. They are striving for reunification with their children, seeking employment, working a DFS plan, on probation or parole. Some are working through legal issues or fleeing abuse. We're here to help by providing support and stability, resources and housing.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Seton House is a self-sufficiency program. We provide transitional housing to single-parent families while simultaneously offering participating in the Connections program.
We strive to provide tools, support and caring connection so that families, individuals and children can have the opportunity for positive growth. We are open and affirming. We offer safety both environmentally and emotionally. We offer informed guidance and support. We are accountable. We move forward together.

Our strategies are self-sufficiency based. Participants must be ready for change. Participants must be serious about setting goals, engaging in the program and making healthy choices. This campus is a safe space of community where staff are at the ready to support. By providing stability and access to resources, Seton House as an organization strategically set up our participants to achieve their own successes, big and small.

Our new partnership with the Connections program provides the roadmap to change. Seton House provides shelter and safe housing for our families, but the real work of meeting goals lies within the amazing people who come here ready for a bigger and brighter future. These individuals who come to Seton House with children are striving toward their own goals--we're just here to facilitate and guide.

Seton House has grown in size and capacity of the years since 1989. The organization has progressed toward a self-sufficiency program from an emergency shelter. Seton House is a place to change, a place to improve family stability. Our future is bright, and through our Connections Program Seton House plans to continue to work of changing our community one family at a time.
