What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
AHAP New Home Construction
Helping residents of San Angelo realize the dream of becoming first time homebuyers. We partner with the City of San Angelo to build new affordable homes for those in the program. The homeowners choose their floor plan, lot and colors for the home and provide 50 hours of sweat equity before we close on the home. Homeowners must qualify for a $60,000 loan from a participating bank and fall within 80% of HUD's income limit for our county.
Helping Hands
This program focuses on light repairs to homes owned by low income residents of Tom Green County who are over the age of 60. Repairs typically include adding grab bars around the home, repairing fixtures, patching walls, repairing siding and painting the home.
Amy Young Barrier Removal
This is a state funded program through TDHCA. We administer the program in our region which allows us to do major remodel work for low income disabled homeowners to make their homes more accessible for them. We remodel bathrooms to accommodate walk in showers, widen doorways, replace flooring, add ramps and generally make getting around the home easier.
Texas Heroes
This program is designed to assist Texas Heroes, officers, firefighters, teachers, EMT's, Veterans, and others working in service fields, in building new homes. Once approved with this program the Hero receives down payment assistance and mortgage credit certificate funded through TSAHC. We are the general contractors for the project and provide a new home at a great price.
Concho Valley Homeless Planning Coaltion
Fiscal Sponsor of group of local organizations and advocates for the homeless population in the Concho Valley
USDA Housing Preservation
In partnership with the USDA, this program focuses on remodeling homes in the rural community. Repairs focus on making the home safe and secure by replacing roofs, brining electrical up to code, building ramps and repairing bathrooms. This program is all provided at no cost to the client.
