Create Hope One Child at a Time
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Licensed foster parents get a stipend from the state to take in foster children that do not even meet one-third of the expenses incurred in caring for these kids. The normal expenses for clothes, school supplies, and beds are added expenses for foster families. Not to mention any type of activities and sports that help children socially. Grandparents or other family members receive NO financial aid. The social services in both Washington State and Idaho encourage grandparents or kin to take guardianship of the children, but if they do, they will not receive any financial assistance. Many foster children have suffered abuse and neglect and therefore have social and behavior issues that foster parents are not equipped to handle.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We strive to fill a huge gap in foster care! We provide school clothes and supplies through our B2S program for foster kids returning to school. We provide scholarships for sports and extracurricular activities for foster children. We have a Hope Room where families can receive gently used clothes, coats, shoes, beds, car seats, and toys up to three times a year for each foster child in their care.
Homes of Hope provides scientifically proven training courses to help foster parents better communicate and care for these children. We pay for respite for foster families and celebration parties to honor and encourage fostering. We work with foster agencies in both WA and ID to get information to new foster families about our programs.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We work with agencies in foster care to reach families. Most of the programs we provide are supported by our communities and churches. Thousands of dollars of items are purchased NEW for our foster families that go directly to foster families and is not in our budget. We receive thousands of dollars each year in gently used clothes, shoes, beds, and car seats that are not added to our inventory yet go directly into the homes of our registered foster families.
