Mission

The Friends of the Portage Senior Center will work directly with the City of Portage Senior Center and with other community organizations, businesses and individuals to meet the financial needs of the Senior Center. It will assist the Center in its purposes of sensitizing the community to the needs of its older citizens, utilizing the wisdom and experience of older persons, assisting older adults in maintaining independence and good health, providing opportunities for making friends, for intellectual stimulation, and for leadership development and finding ways to meet basic needs of older persons when necessary.

Fitness Classes

The PSC offers a variety of fitness programs and classes designed specifically for older adults. Classes range from high impact aerobic programs for physically active mature adults such as Enhance Fitness or Strength Training, to low-impact, non-aerobic exercise routines such as Body Rebound. Other classes such as T'ai Ji and Yoga promote balance and flexibility.
