What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
ASCF Cancer Navigators
Our combined experience as cancer patients and caregivers has helped the ASCF team develop a roadmap of support services for cancer families, from Houston and beyond, who depend on us to guide them through the, often, overwhelming continuum of care. Our trained staff and volunteer navigators are a trusted source to help prepare, advocate, facilitate communications, provide access to much-needed resources and to be a comforting extension of a cancer family.
ASCF Family Celebrations
We understand that the cancer journey can make it difficult to balance cancer care, day-to-day tasks and celebrating life’s important milestones. While families may not always have such capacity, each is every bit as important to the family’s overall well-being. Easing those burdens, celebrating the moments and making the memories that mean the most to our families is at the heart of everything we do.
ASCF Housing
Through the generosity of its donors, A Shelter for Cancer Families (ASCF) is able to offer fully-furnished apartments free of charge to families seeking cancer care in the Texas Medical Center. ASCF opens their doors wide to all cancer families regardless age, cancer type, income or where they are in their cancer journey. They respect their time, dignity, and privacy, while providing options and amenities that meet the specific needs of a family living through cancer.
