What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Pathways to Safety
Pathways to Safety is an early intervention and prevention program designed to keep children safe in their homes and out of the child welfare system. This is accomplished through successful family engagement, involving families in setting their own goals, linking them to services and resources based on their strengths and needs, and supporting them through this voluntary process. This program is the result of a strong public/private partnership between the ACTION Council and the Department of Social and Employment Services- Family and Children Services.
Fiscal Sponsorship of Community Groups
The ACTION Council sponsors the work of more than two dozen coalitions of individuals who provide valuable services, which are often not available through traditional community resources. Under our fiscal umbrella, these groups are eligible to receive tax-deductible donations and program grants, which enable them to have a significant impact on those they serve
Parents as Teachers
Parents as Teachers (PAT) is an internationally recognized parent education program that provides in-home information, support and encouragement for parents to help their children develop optimally. Currently, we serve approximately 160 families across Monterey County.
Building Healthy Communities Program Development & Incubation
Implements new programs and provides program development and capacity building support for Building Healthy Communities initiative in East Salinas. Programs include BHC Hub, MILPA, La Colectiva de Mujeres, Urban Arts Collaborative, and Baktun 12
