What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Irish Wolfhound Breed Education

We connect with the public through local cultural and dog related events to promote an cultural awareness and understanding of the breed. We encourage and sponsor education in the health and welfare of the Irish Wolfhound.

Population(s) Served

We connect the community with responsible preservation breeders who provide health testing on their breeding stock and focus on the temperament, health, welfare and correct structure of the Irish Wolfhound.

Population(s) Served

Along side our sister organization, the Irish Wolfhound Rescue of the Mid South, we support the rescue and placement of Irish Wolfhounds whose owners are no longer able to care for them. We assess their overall condition and correct any medical or behavioral conditions that can be treated. If they are older hounds they go into permanent foster to be kept comfortable for the balance of their lives. If they are adoptable they are placed in pre-approved homes. If you're interested in adopting an Irish Wolfhound contact our club secretary and rescue coordinator. Pre-approval requires a physically fenced yard with a 4 foot fence, an application and interview and a site check.
