Mission

Shining a light on awareness and inspiring hope for brain tumor fighters through funding and advocating for research, providing financial and emotional resources and taking every opportunity to #bethegood in our community.

Notes from the nonprofit

Fighter Foundation was founded in honor of Michelle Boyd de Jong and her fight with Glioblastoma. Glioblastoma is the most aggressive form of brain cancer, for which, there is at this time, no cure. Despite being faced with a death sentence, Michelle dedicated the fight for her life toward helping others live more fully. She took every opportunity to raise awareness about brain tumors and the need for better treatments. Michelle was an advocate for glioblastoma related clinical trials and contributed toward multiple studies including the ultimate sacrifice when she donated her brain tumor tissue for research after her death. Fighter Foundation continues her mission by organizing events that promote brain tumor awareness and support funding for brain tumor research and resources for brain tumor patients, families and caregivers. A portion of annual fundraising is dedicated to cancer research at Moffitt Cancer Center.
