Our programs

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Operation Sit and Stay

OS&S focuses on providing temporary foster to dogs whose owner's are facing serious medical issues and require ongoing treatment such as chemo, or major surgery such as heart, hip or knee surgery and even sometimes c-section recovery, leaving them not physically able to care for their dog. Our group fosters and cares for the pet until such time the owner is healthy enough to maintain full care.

Population(s) Served

This program helps owners who have lost their pet only to find out they have made their way to the local shelter where boarding, fines and other fees have added up making it near impossible to regain custody of their dog. FHI will offer to help with those fees as long as the owner allows us to spay/neuter the dog as well as bring up to date on vaccinations at our cost.

Population(s) Served

FHI helps local owners pay for spay/neuter and other vet services that owner's might not otherwise be able to afford due to low income, or those that have fallen on hard times. FHI will fund either the entire spay/neuter appt to include vaccinations or a portion depending on the owner's affordability. FHI also assists owners who are facing a medical emergency with their pet and cannot fully afford the expense.
