What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Founded in 2014, HEPH Foundation’s mission is to gamify learning with innovative, immersive STEM curricula and tools that help disenfranchised learners prepare for and excel in the Future Of Work. 67% of all students lose interest in STEM by the 10th grade. They won’t be ready for the future. So we created a STEM platform that is so engaging that students won’t ever want to stop learning.

Dream T.E.A.M.S

Dream T.E.A.M.S.
HEPH Foundation Dream T.E.A.M.S. meets learners where they live—their interests and passions lead them to STEM discoveries and social emotional learning. One curriculum introduces learners to personal brand development and content creation through the hero’s journey and other reading comprehension skills. Dream T.E.A.M.S. prepares learners for the future of work through project-based curriculums and activities aligned with 21st century standards.
Success is measured not only quantitatively through engagement statistics and test scores, but also qualtitatively through learner and parent testimonials. If learners leave Dream T.E.A.M.S. as inquisitive problem-solvers with a reignited sense of personal choice, that is a success for HEPH. Dream T.E.A.M.S. empowers all learners, with a particular focus on disengaged learners and those who have fallen through societal and educational cracks, including girls and children of color.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

The HEPH Foundation aims to transform disengaged learners into lifelong inquisitive STEM learners with the knowledge and social emotional skills to solve any problem they may encounter.

We meet learners where they live by integrating video games, music, film, social media, and graphic novels into the curricula. We use subject-matter experts, real-world experiences, and out-of-school locations to help learners understand that learning happens anywhere and everywhere. We use technology to democratize the learning experience.

The executive directors of the HEPH Foundation have 25 years of experience helping people find knowledge and pathways to work through technology, science, and engineering. Since its creation in 2014, the HEPH Foundation has developed and implemented proven STEM curriculums. The foundation’s work has expanded thanks to the efforts of a core team of 5 and an additional 10 volunteers and part-time workers, interest from school administrators and parents, and partnerships with local businesses.

HEPH has received letters of interest from over five schools in Oak Park and River Forest and has been commissioned by Oak Park School District 97 to prepare a program for 5,600 learners. Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s team has asked HEPH to provide STEM programs for the South and West Sides of Chicago. An independent study conducted by District 97 proved that HEPH curricula achieve 95% engagement, and 75% of HEPH learners advance in math and reading. The next step is a 12-month plan of hyper-local and national initiatives that will enrich the lives of millions of learners. The plan includes six months of development followed by a six-month rollout across communities, schools, and digital platforms.
