CHRISTIAN SCHOOL AT CASTLE HILLS

Our mission is that students might know Christ and make Christ known. Our vision at Castle Hills is to graduate mature students who: live for the glory of God; think biblically and critically; and demonstrate Christian character and servant leadership through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Our financial goals include raising $10.5 million for our capital campaign, which will provide a permanent home for our students by acquiring property and purchasing our current, historic buildings. As for our annual fund, the school promotes its "Pay for a Day" initiative. Christian education at Castle Hills is 95% supported by tuition and fees, which are set to keep costs within the reach of everyday families. Thus, a gap of $220,000 needs to be raised in order to maintain our current excellent education, which is equivalent to $600 a day. As a growing and aging school, we make every effort to fund maintenance and facility improvements. To provide the best educational experience for our students, we also seek funding for technology upgrades, and academic and extra-curricular programs. Our school also offers a tuition assistance program in effort to reach students who cannot afford a Christian education.

For our school's mission and vision, we teach students from a Christian worldview and implement a philosophy of servant leadership. From elementary to secondary, our kids serve others in their campus life whether it's visiting the elderly in nursing homes, raising money for the less fortunate, traveling to assist victims of natural disasters, or going on mission trips to poverty-stricken areas. Our secondary students are part of a very empowering course called The Academy for Leadership and Development where students are exposed to a wide assortment of leaders in the fields of business, government, medicine, education, law, and Christian ministry. For our financial goals, we have implemented a "Pay for a Day" initiative to support our annual fund and our school hosts an annual fundraising event that we refer to as "Eagle Banquet." We have a full-time development director who oversees and executes fundraising efforts to support our $10.5 million capital campaign, $220,000 annual fund, and additional school needs.

Our campus is conveniently located in an affluent San Antonio community and now operates as a private independent school. Castle Hills is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), which is the largest accrediting body of Christian schools and colleges in the world. We are currently in the reaccreditation process with a March 2018 team visit planned. We have 115 fully-trained staff, faculty, and administration dedicated to seeing our school's mission, vision, and goals achieved. School Superintendent, Michael Pinkston, has served as a leader of three Christian schools over the past 34 years and joined The Christian School at Castle Hills in 2010. Under Mr. Pinkston's leadership, the school has grown from 186 to 625 students. CHS projects enrollment to be 650 students in 2018. Our school is led by our amazing Board of Trustees, which includes six officers and 10 members. We employ a full-time development director who has 12 years of journalism and communications experience. Our development director is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and partners with hired development consultants. The school's previous fundraising "Eagle Banquet" has proven successful in that $1 million was raised in one night with Mike Huckabee appearing as the event's keynote speaker (previous speakers include Steve Forbes and Lt. Col. Oliver North). To date, we have raised $4 million from Fall 2016 to Winter 2017. The support for our banquet, school and campaign continues to grow in overwhelming numbers.

We believe that we will continue to have similar and greater success as what is listed below because we focus on the hearts and minds of our students, and keep Christ at the center of everything we do. • Our school has raised $4 million in gifts and pledges to date toward our $10.5 million capital campaign goal. Also, we have raised half a million dollars in financial aid for students who cannot afford Christian education.
• 29 students have received Christ as Savior this school year, making that a total of 335 students since 2010
• CHS students travel on mission trips to Haiti, the Rio Grande Valley and all across our city touching many lives for Christ
•CHS Football team went to Baytown to serve and share the love of Christ to the people affected by Hurricane Harvey. In addition, $1,700 in donations were raised by students to provide financial assistance to the victims of the Hurricane.
• STEM Program & STEM Diploma Endorsement added to graduation plan for CHS secondary students • CHS partners with UT-Austin in new STEM Engineering College Dual-Credit Courses
• American Sign Language added to CHS high school curriculum
• 85% of graduates received college scholarships
• Senior Class of 2017 (27 students) earned more than $2 Million in college scholarships
• Art Department wins Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS)-3A State Championship for the second year in a row. Eagle students have won seven state titles in the last four years in Fine Arts, Athletics, and Academics including finishing third in State or better, during the same period.
• Boys Varsity Basketball, Tennis Doubles, and Eagle Track Teams advanced to 2017 State playoffs. Girls Varsity Volleyball goes one game short of the State Final Four.
• Seven students qualified for the State Golf Tournament and one placed at State
• Opened our newly renovated Preschool facility (Hope building) in 2017
• New football practice field and playgrounds (behind Hope & Victory building)
• New campus security steps taken at campus entrances and a new partnership with Castle Hills Police Department officers on campus
