Deaf Outreach Inc

We believe that awareness is the gateway to providing for Access, Education, and Advocacy for residents of Central Delaware who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Once there is awareness, then there will be more movement toward equal access to resources for this population.

Our current strategy involves spreading information through information tables at public events. This has enabled us to, not only spread awareness among the members of the hearing population, but to also identify several consumers of our services.

We are presenting our information at least once per week throughout the demographic area. We are also continuing to make presentations to religious and civic organizations. We are also involved in local school district community events to spread awareness in the younger population. Deaf Outreach also co-sponsors an informal ASL class in the community.

As a young nonprofit, we have begun to get out name known within the Deaf community and to be recognized by the Delaware Office for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
We are hoping to seat a board in the next 2 years while we continue our awareness activities and assisting our current, and potential consumers.
