Mission

The McClinton Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educationa, and scientific purposes. To provide frofessional artist and students financial assistance and the opportunity to enhance their skills and talents through training, workshops, conferences, internships, scholarships, contest and grants; provide artist and professionals with opportunities to study and perform in vaious venues that enhance communication and understanding of the arts across diverse cultural groups; provide opportunities for national and international exchange, recognition and leadership through performance and publication; and foster community and service programs to assist in developing solutions to concerns of inadequate theatre technology, cultural re-development and revitalization, economic re-stabilization and financial resource management.

Program 1

In August the Foundation sponsored the eighth (8) edition of The Wrightsville Renewal Festival with approx. 653 visitors. The festival hosted local and regional artists from Covington, Richmond, and Roanoke, Virginia as well as, from Ohio, Maryland, DC. Concerts, Workshops and demonstrations were also given. The Foundation also sponsored the Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Legacy walk in January with an attendance of 117 persons. The Foundation supported and sponsored the Heritage Museum in presenting an exhibit of a national artist "Albert Carter" and is expanding its collection of local and regional artifacts from 19th and 20th century African American families. The Festival also, premiered a new theatre work chronicling the history and live of the village of Wrightsville.

The Foundation supported and sponsored the Heritage Museum in presenting an exhibit of local artist and is expanding its collection of local and regional artifacts from 19th and 20th century African American families.

In August the foundation sponsored the Wrightsvill Renewal festival in partnership with The Women of the Civil War, that service approximately seven hundred and twenty three visitors.The festival hosted local and regional artist from Covington, Richmond, Roanoke, Virginia as well as those from Ohio, Maryland, DC, New York. Concerts, workshops and demonstrations were also given. The foundation also sponsored the annual Martin Luther King Jr legacy walk in January with an attendance of 135 persons. The foundation supported and sponsored the Heritage Museum in presenting an exhibit of local artist. It continues to expand its collection of local and regional artifacts from the 19th and 20th century African American families.
