Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Social Services-WI

Immigrant and refugee families face many challenges that are encountered as new Americans. Our team bridges the language and cultural gap through language and dialect assistance to help clients find and access benefits that are available to them through local, state, and federal programs. We travel to offices with clients to provide on-site interpretation services to clients applying for assistance such as Foodshare, Medicaid, SSI & WIC Clinics.

Population(s) Served

Scholarship for refugee and immigrants in Wisconsin in honor of the late Dr Ahmad Nasef. To help support refugee and immigrant students attending trade schools, universities or colleges.

Population(s) Served
Immigrants and migrants

We host a variety of job fairs, assist with building resumes for families & provide educational services to help women and men thrive in an English speaking environment. We partner with community organizations and volunteers to work one on one with refugee students to improve English language skills and assist with homework assignments. Students range from kindergarten to middle school. We ensure our volunteers have a sensitivity to cultural differences in addition to patience, understanding and fluency.

Population(s) Served

WE HELP REFUGEES NAVIGATE THE FOOD ENVIRONMENT AS THEY ENCOUNTER UNFAMILAR FOOD CHOICES AND FOOD INSECURITY. WITH A LACK OF INCONSISTENT ACCESS TO ENOUGH FOOD FOR AN ACTIVE HEALTHY LIFE, MOST FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN DO NOT HAVE THE FINANCIAL RESOURCES TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. WE PROVIDE FOOD BOXES TO ASSIST REFUGEES DURING THEIR NAVIGATIONAL PERIOD TO FAMILARIZE THEMSELVES WITH THE FOOD ENVIRONMENT

Population(s) Served

Delivering urgent relief local and abroad to help ease the suffering caused by poverty and disaster around the world. Relief programs are run by mostly volunteer teams. We provide relief supplies such as emergency food, clothing and hygiene.

Population(s) Served

Scholarships are for students located in the Gaza strip and West Bank with limited financial means to study. This scholarship is focused mainly on the medical and pharmacy school program.

This scholarship is to enable dedicated students to obtain degrees and the skills to make important contributions to their communities and their country.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

The goal of HRRG is to help refugees and immigrants become contributing members in their host societies.

HRRG has expanded because our volunteers and staff have committed to hard work, developed in-depth knowledge, and created important relationships within their communities. Today HRRG works in the USA in refugee resettlement and Internationally in many war torn countries helping communities to survive conflict and rebuild and recover from war. HRRG helps in education, healthcare, and labor opportunities Internationally.

HRRG in the USA works in helping newly arrived refugees become self sufficient and adjust to life in America.

HRRG is dedicated to providing short and long term solutions to meet the needs and hopes of those we serve.
-We will build tools and systems that help our teams provide strong impacted programs.
-Strengthen operations, focus energy and resources to provide high quality programs through new ideas.

HRRG volunteers and staff work tirelessly to create innovative programs and approaches. We realize that in order to create real quality in clients lives we need to provide major changes. HRRG is committed to create new innovative techniques in research and surveying.

HRRG is ready to develop new approaches in refugee communities to issues such as transportation, language barrier, lack of access to mental health, and how to provide adequate safe healthcare to support physiological and social hurdles.

Measuring outcomes: Improving in health, labor opportunities, education and self sufficiency for the beneficiaries we serve.

Evidence: HRRG's evidence base for solutions in crisis-affected context is not strong, however evidence generation is important for strengthening our understanding of what works and what doesn't. Evidence-based solutions are an important way to make huge impacts with limited resources.

Effectiveness, and outcomes: We need an effective plan, execution, and evaluation of humanitarian assistance to not only develop and apply tools and processes that are based on or generate evidence., but also tracking these outcomes is crucial to future responses.

Over the past few years, HRRG has made significant growth toward its strategic goals.
Some of these achievements :
• Refugee Resettlement – HRRG worked to achieve and open the first resettlement agency under the organization approved by the State Department. HRRG's partnership in refugee resettlement with Islamic Relief USA.
• Healthcare – HRRG is set to open the first Perinatal Dialysis Clinic in Palestine which will help many issues such as transportation and financial burdens and many organizations have been impressed with this program.
• Education – HRRG locally in US has awarded in many scholarships for the refugee and immigrant communities. Internationally HRRG has been able to award hundreds of scholarships in many war torn countries.
• Community Engagement – HRRG has worked on improving its community engagement for better linkages. HRRG has seen because of an increase in community engagement this has led to improved outcomes.
Over the coming year, HRRG plans to continue to make progress towards its strategic goals.

Data
  • We ask team members to identify racial disparities in their programs and / or portfolios.
  • We analyze disaggregated data and root causes of race disparities that impact the organization's programs, portfolios, and the populations served.
  • We disaggregate data to adjust programming goals to keep pace with changing needs of the communities we support.
  • We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
  • We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
Policies and processes
  • We use a vetting process to identify vendors and partners that share our commitment to race equity.
  • We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
  • We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
