DFW Foster Parent Association

Empower. Support. Advocate.

aka DFWFPA   |   Dallas, TX   |  www.DFWFPA.org

Mission

The mission of the DFWFPA is to advocate for all those who care about children and their families. We work supportively with foster, adoptive, and kinship families, and with local foster parent associations and agencies who care for the children. DFWFPA participates in state and local social service workgroups, advisory boards, commissions, and councils. As informed resource parents and team members, the DFWFPA community shares their years of experience to provide their input and guidance in areas such as general care and procedures, accessing mental and physical health services, and teen care, etc.

Population(s) Served

The Dallas Fort Worth Foster Parent Association is excited to launch our latest project to bring craft baskets to the homes of foster families and Child Protective Services’ offices around the DFW metroplex. Crafting has many benefits for kids such as improves kids coordination, helps hone fine motor skills, improves visual processing abilities, promotes executive functioning, skyrocket self-esteem, teaches them self-expression, and encourages creativity.
