Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Role of the performance art in youth development is underestimated. There has been numerous studies showing value of the art in the youth development. We believe that dance is unique for synergy of choreography, music and theater. It encourages creative thinking skill, value of disciple, commitment and work ethic.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Ballet school Supplemental Scholarship
AHMF provided merit-based supplemental scholarships to offset the cost of living for San Francisco Ballet Summer program. Summer Session provides a deep dive into ballet technique as they prepare you for a career as a professional ballet dancer. Programs are designed to address the individual technical and artistic needs of intermediate and advanced/pre-professional students.
CA4Healing
Children are the most vulnerable! Humanitarian aid generally focuses on what you can see, you can touch, measure, build: food, medicine, cloths, shelter. Psychological trauma is invisible. Exposure to war breaks children’s fragile defense mechanisms and results in pervasive feeling of hopelessness, grief, anger and fear. Art, Music, and Dance play a crucial role in restoring the resilience and protecting children from the adverse effects of war. Researchers suggest that the power of art can help improve self-awareness, self-confidence, and provide an outlet for children to express and communicate feelings and heal from the horrors that they've witnessed.
AHMF is proud to partner with Nexus Center for The Arts to create a specialized Creative Arts for Healing (#CA4Healing) program for children from the affected war zone in Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh. This program will use the creative arts to help children to express, create, and heal in a safe and supportive environment. Art, music, dance are indispensable tools for communication, emotional release and ultimate recovering.

- We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
