What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

We have a financial crisis within our community. The lower class has expanded dramatically, and the middle class has become poorer. The dollar does not go as far as it did several years ago, and this leaving families to go without or with a lot less. Besides a financial crisis we have a crisis of emotional and social health. People are hurting more and seem to have less hope that things will improve. We desire to meet practical needs while inspiring hope again. This means being there to help elementary children struggling in school because their distracted with poor hygiene and bullying. This means helping the aging population of our area, which is the largest people group, with making sure they have their basic needs met. Many we found going without and not asking for help. We aim to solve these issues by providing relief as and where needed.

Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Healthy Kids NY

We provide Hygiene packs for low-income elementary school children who live in rural areas and have less access to needed resources. Our program helps build self-esteem, reduces bullying, and helps to increase learning aptitude while helping children stay healthier. We not only meet the physical need we also provide calming worry beads to let these children know things will be alright. Children wear the calming beads as a means to help relax and focus. It can be extremely useful in assisting you in managing your emotions and situations.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

As an organization we have some lofty goals. First and foremost, we aim to reduce the financial burden on families struggling with affordability issues by providing them with free to low-cost nonperishable food and supplies. We plan to have a warehouse to receive weekly tractor trailer loads of supply to reach our community needs. Part of this warehouse is to be a community resource for diester relief. To provide necessary replacement of different kinds of items for families who suffer loss by fire or flood or storm. With our warehouse in view, we plan to obtain a cargo van for delivering supplies to those most vulnerable in our community. We have a goal to start groups to help people find the needed emotional and mental relief caused by traumatic events and situations. We have a goal to bring from $25,000 to $75,000 value in supplies to Herkimer County every week.
