Programs and results
What we aim to solve
The first responder industry is wrought with mental and emotional hurdles that prevent these heroic people from living the healthy life they deserve. Due to the enormous job they perform, they also encumber traumatic experiences and high volume of stress that takes away from living a life of health. We focus on the mental & emotional health but along with comes the relationships at home and work that become at risk from this terrible burden. Our mission is to help these heroes to navigate a career in this field, live happy & content and retire happy & content.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We accomplish the mission of aiding in the mental and emotional health of first responders by building peer support teams within agencies. The first responder rarely is interested in going to see a mental health professional. The culture itself if prone to being untrusting and therefore the success of having trained crisis intervention peer support work within the culture has been highly successful. Our mission is to create peer support teams within agencies across the nation to help the strain of the job, to minimize the suicide rate, to lower the job attrition and increase the success these heroes have in their relationships both at work and home,.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We put peer support teams together! We are trainers for International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF) to teach Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) which is a crisis intervention technique that helps minimize the impact of trauma and stress on first responders. Additionally, we put peer support teams together using CISM as well as other proactive type tools of instruction such as; suicide intervention, emotional survival, substance abuse prevention, fitness & nutrition, physical wellness strategies etc.
We also advocate for wellness by performing wellness trainings and presentations to inspire and motivate the community of first responders to live a healthier lifestyle.
Additionally, we also provide peer support services and counseling services to those in need. Specifically, suicide intervention, crisis intervention and EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) which is a therapeutic technique that works fabulously to help the first resonder process traumatic events.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have our core team of leadership and then we have a large team of contractors that we use to teach, train, inspire, motivate, intervene and lead to pathways of health in whatever capacity is needed,
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have accomplished building approx. 42 peer support teams around the country.
