What we aim to solve
Creative solutions to our environmental and social challenges are being developed around the world but require financial resources and mentorship support not always readily available from larger institutions. Purpose Earths grant and mentorship program activates grassroots projects doing the important work on the ground to allow neighborhoods to thrive, our natural world to flourish and our spiritual integrity to be fully realized.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
PURPOSE EARTH Grant & Mentorship Program
To address our global challenges, Purpose Earth has identified three “Purpose Pillars,” as the framework for our global grant and mentorship program.
They are:
- Environmental Restoration
- Cultural Collaboration
- Community Activation
This important work is supported by strategic partnerships with social entrepreneurs, passionate community leaders and purposeful organizations around the world to further their endeavors toward sustainable change.
Funds are distributed directly to carefully-vetted grant recipients and projects, allowing 100% of donations to make a powerful, immediate impact on local communities.
In addition to financial support, Purpose Earth provides ongoing mentorship through active dialogue and scheduled meetings, ensuring grantees have guidance in operational strategies to support longevity for long-term impact personalized to their project.
Environmental Restoration
Environmental Restoration is one of our three Purpose Pillars, upholding the importance of funding grassroots and cutting edge projects focused on creative solutions around environmental restoration and climate change.
To-date, Purpose Earth has awarded grant and mentorship support to a diverse range of projects that include the restoring of coral reef systems in the Dominican Republic, the planting of urban forests in Chicago, and supporting waste management and recycling projects in Talek in Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya and Beirut, Lebanon.
Purpose Earth continues to seek out and support global projects making an impact in:
- Alleviating environmental degradation
- Restoring natural resources
- Honoring the natural world
Community Activation
Community Activation is one of our three Purpose Pillars, upholding the importance of funding grassroots and cutting-edge projects that strengthen local communities while also building interactive and collaborative networks of energized, creative and activated groups.
To-date, Purpose Earth has funded and mentored diverse projects within this theme that include: empowering women in Nepal and India with business skills to keep them from forced marriage and sweatshop working conditions, offering education on vocational skills and finances to youth in a refugee camp in Uganda and restoring farming communities in the Philippines.
Purpose Earth continues to seek out and support global projects making an impact in:
- Nurturing healthy and collaborative projects that strengthen local communities
- Transforming communities to be more dynamic, diverse and mutually supportive
- Building collaborative and interactive networks thriving with a positive, energized and creative group dynamic
Cultural Collaboration
Cultural Collaboration is one of our three Purpose Pillars, upholding the importance of funding grassroots and cutting edge projects focused on strengthening a cultural foundation through compassion and cooperation.
To-date, Purpose Earth has funded and mentored diverse projects within this theme that include: cross-cultural collaboration between Bedouin and Jewish artisans; weavers, spinners, dyers, shepherds, and farmers working together to uphold a 6000-year-old weaving tradition, as well as a project committed to amplifying and empowering girls from around the world through connection, dialogue and mentorship.
Purpose Earth continues to seek out and support global projects making an impact in:
- Bringing the universal cultural ideals of compassion, cooperation and consciousness to a global community
- Empowering cultural expression and communication through art, music and other creative endeavors
-Shifting perspectives from “me” to “we” to “all” in how we live and take action
Mentorship Program
In addition to financial support, Purpose Earth provides ongoing mentorship through active dialogue and scheduled meetings, ensuring grantees have guidance in operational strategies to support longevity for long-term impact personalized to their project.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Each year, Purpose Earth aims to award a minimum of 5 new projects with grant funding and online personal mentoring sessions with a member of the Purpose Earth team or Grants Council.
For the year 2024, our goal is to raise enough funds to support a total of 10 new projects based around the world. All projects must address one of our three pillars: Environmental Restoration, Community Activation and Cultural Collaboration.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
A multifaceted strategy is used in activating grassroots projects that will make a transformative impact.
1. Building Community through Visibility
Our mission is accomplished through strategic partnerships with social entrepreneurs, passionate community leaders and purposeful organizations around the world to share our story with an ever-growing network. Through storytelling, grant recipient video content and imagery we create a hopeful and purpose-driven narrative to build deep relationships both on and offline.
Purpose Earth also shares our brand story through strategic sponsorships of online events like World Unity Week and the Global Oneness Summit.
2. Supporting Our Mission through Fundraising & Partnerships
Our grant award program depends on the success of our diverse fundraising efforts and partnerships throughout the year. To do this we engage in a number of campaigns including: Giving Tuesday outreach, Online and in-person ticketed events, Monthly donor program
The Purpose Earth team has also participated in fundraising workshops and courses to continue building-out effective strategies for finding and engaging with donors.
Purpose Earths founders are passionate about the transformative impact of purpose-driven projects and financially support the operational and administrative costs of the organization at this time, allowing 100% of all donations to go directly to our grant recipients.
3. Activating High-Impact Projects
Our financial and mentorship program focuses on purpose-led, grassroots projects whose endeavors are of value in a local community and a strategy that is sustainable beyond a Purpose Earth grant award. The grant application itself is a detailed form requiring references, project goals, budget proposals and video introductions. We accept applications from January - August of each year and allow 3-4 months for reviewing all applications. The Purpose Earth grants council committee thoroughly vets each project prior to choosing our annual grant recipients in the early months of each new year.
Once a Purpose Earth grant is awarded, a mentor is assigned to each grant recipient personalized to their needs, and regular check-ins are scheduled for project updates, ensuring grantees have guidance in operational strategies to support longevity for long-term impact personalized to their project. When possible, an onsite project visit is arranged.
Our mentorship program provides grant recipients with skill sets they can apply personally and share with their team. These mentors include members of our volunteer Purpose Earth Grants Selection Council, a collective of leaders passionate about empowering and mentoring change-makers at the grassroots levels. Volunteering their time and knowledge, each council member represents a socially-conscious organization or project based around the world.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Our international team of entrepreneurs and creatives are passionate about creating a world that works for everyone. Together, they offer expertise in environmental preservation, the arts, social justice, social entrepreneurship, entertainment, marketing and media, business and law, community building and nonprofit management.
The Purpose Earth team meets weekly via Zoom to discuss strategy, updates and to support a positive and inspiring dynamic within the team.
The Purpose Earth Grants Selection Council members volunteer their time and knowledge, and each council member represents a socially-conscious organization or project based around the world. They also meet regularly to discuss grant application updates and high-level visions for the organization.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
To-date, Purpose Earth has awarded over $300,000 to 33 projects in 17 countries around the world. Here are just a few of the inspiring projects and project leaders we have supported:
Angelina Gabaitse, founder of Unleashing the African Potential, developed a women's empowerment program for a village in Botswana and now works closely with the Botswana Government on entrepreneurship and climate change. She is an active participant at COP28 in Dubai.
Elan Gerzon, founder of Gazala Collective, supports cross-cultural collaboration of the Bedouin and Jewish artisans in Central Negev Desert, Israel, providing fair wages to the weavers, spinners, dyers, shepherds and farmers, and further sustaining their 6,000-year-old weaving tradition.
Nasreen Sheikh, founder of The Empowerment Collective, has led skills training programs for women, supported nearly 500 underserved children with school-related resources in Nepal and India, launched an "End Period Poverty" campaign in Nepal and provided over 20,000 meals to families.
Looking ahead, we aim to fund and mentor over 50 projects by the end of 2025, and activate communities in 30 different countries.
