What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Certificate Program: Creation to New Creation
This is a three-year journey through the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation, culminating in a certificate of completion. Uniquely developed and taught at the request of Bishop James D. Conley, this program is designed to lead God’s people into a deeper personal encounter with our Lord through Sacred Scripture and to equip them for life and ministry centered in God’s Word.
Courses
Emmaus has researched, developed, and taught 41 original courses, each unique in its breadth, depth, and topic. Some courses dive deep into a small portion of Scripture, others cover larger swaths (even multiple books) of the Bible, and still others explore what God says about such relevant topics as the Eucharist, discipleship, and marriage and family.
Seminars
Quarterly, half-day seminars on a selected and timely topic are offered at various parish locations around Lincoln and beyond. These short presentations are designed to serve the parishioners of the host parish as well as people from other parishes who are interested in the topic. They also provide opportunities for increasing the visibility of Emmaus among our Catholic and non-Catholic friends.
Retreats
On a number of occasions, the Emmaus instructors are invited to lead, host, and speak at spiritual retreats of varying lengths and formats. With a focus on Sacred Scripture, retreatants immerse themselves in God’s Word and come away refreshed and uplifted.
Parish/Diocese Education
Emmaus provides targeted education and consultation for diocesan priests and teachers on topics that are pertinent to their ongoing formation and ministry vocations.
Radio
Emmaus enjoys a strong partnership with Omaha-based Spirit Catholic Radio (KVSS). Projects include a monthly segment branded as “Emmaus Encounters,” frequent guest speaking on Bible interpretation, and voice recordings of daily audio Bible readings.
