What we aim to solve

The Brie Rowley Foundation works hard to prevent further addiction and overdose deaths by fighting together against the opioid epidemic through awareness and education. We host annual fundraisers that raises money to help provide assistance for children whose parents have overdosed and or are struggling with addiction. The misuse of and addiction to opioids including prescription pain relievers, heroin, and synthetic opioids such as fentanyl is a serious national crisis that affects public health as well as social and economic welfare. Our mission is to prevent further addiction and overdose deaths by fighting against the opioid epidemic through awareness and education

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We hope to prevent addiction and overdose deaths by fighting together against the opioid epidemic through awareness and education. The foundation wants to support children who are suffering through the loss of a parent due to an overdose and or are dealing with active addition.

The Brie Rowley Foundation hosts an annual basketball charity event called "Buckets 4 Brie". There is a 50/50 raffle, many gift baskets, entertainment, food and much more. Every christmas, the foundation also has a Toy drive for the children. We come together as a community to fight the epidemic together and there will be many more events for the foundation.

Our foundation takes pride in working hard and never giving up. When our team has a vision, we work together to make it come alive. Seeing the look on the children's faces that you are helping is motivational and inspiring, which allows us to love what we do. We strive to be the best foundation out there and to show people that we are in this together. The foundation is always in contact with someone wether it is a business, addiction related foundation or group.

In 2019 we have hosted both Buckets 4 Brie basketball charity event and The Brie Rowley Foundation Toy drive around Christmas. Our second annual Buckets 4 Brie event is coming up on April 5th, 2020. After that, we are hoping for a couple more events during 2020. We plan to give out our first donation this year and help a child or two.

Data
  • We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
  • We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
Policies and processes
  • We use a vetting process to identify vendors and partners that share our commitment to race equity.
  • We have a promotion process that anticipates and mitigates implicit and explicit biases about people of color serving in leadership positions.
  • We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
  • We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
  • We help senior leadership understand how to be inclusive leaders with learning approaches that emphasize reflection, iteration, and adaptability.
  • We measure and then disaggregate job satisfaction and retention data by race, function, level, and/or team.
  • We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
