For many teens the prom is the epitome of their high school experience. But for students who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or queer, it can be a challenge to feel like they belong. Yakima Pride decided to start a new annual tradition called, "The Rainbow Prom", where attending LGBTQ+ youth are welcome and safe to be fully themselves.

At Yakima Pride, we believe that access to diverse and inclusive literature is essential for fostering understanding and acceptance within our community. That's why we're dedicated to making LGBTQ+ books accessible to everyone in the Yakima Valley.

By supporting our 'Reading is for Everyone' book program, you're not only promoting literacy but also championing LGBTQ+ representation and visibility. Your participation helps us cultivate inclusivity, education, and support for all members of our community.
